My sewing machine hates me...

but I was determined to have a go at sewing on a card....and this is my first effort.

Actually all sewing machines hate me...and I hate sewing which is rather strange as my Mother was a trained tailoress...she used to design and make wonderful creations. I love knitting, cross stitch etc but not sewing. I think my aversion came because if I wanted to sew anything Mum always made me use a pattern, measure it, chalk the pleats, pin it, tack it and then sew it...I was always too eager to see the finished article.

However a couple of weeks ago we had one of those little diddy sewing machines come into the Reachout shop.....and the rest is history. I showed this card to the card class and they are all going to have a go on their 'proper' machines!!

  8. Firstly for your first go at sewing on a card you have done a great job! a little advice... try adjusting your tension on your machine this is the problem I had when I first started with my machine... and take 3 sheets of printer paper and sew them together... adjusting the tension button as you sew! hope that helps! xxx
